I thought I’d do a combined post with some of my favourite Illamasqua products and do some Valentines Day Makeup Ideas. I mean what is better then love and makeup! So here are some Valentines inspired looks, one for the day and one for the night.
Illamasqua how do I love thee…
… let me count the ways
I thought it was about time I showed some love to Illamasqua. They are absolutely one of my fave brands and if you follow me on the Sorbet Sundays Twitter then you would have seen me shout them out a fair few times. I’m not ashamed to tell you I nearly cried real tears when they followed me lol. I’ve also shown my love for them on guest post TLFW style but I figured it was time to give them the Sorbet Sundays love here ❤️
So I started out with Skin Base in 17 (on top in the picture below) I love this foundation. It’s a great full coverage product and it really makes my skin look amazing. I usually get compliments from people when I wear this.
For contouring I used Skin Base 15 (bottom left) for under the eyes and nose and Skin Base 18 (bottom right) under my cheekbones. Don’t forget to blend, blend, blend. You do not want streaks!!!
Blush – M.A.C in Lovecrush. Perfect name for vally day don’t you think!
Illamasqua Epic added to give some beautiful bronze shimmer to this look in all the right places. Cheeks, nose and cupids bow.
Illamasqua Pigment in Berber – An auburn shimmer, beautiful red glitter pigment. (I layered this on top of a deep pink). It is loose powder so I used approximately 3 layers and that provided the impact that I wanted.
Liquid liner – L’oreal Super Liner Ultra Precision in Black on my upper eye.
Khol liner – Maybelline Master Kajal – applied under my eye and along my bottom lash water line for definition.
I wanted a nude lip for the day so I used concealer on my lips, set it with powder and then added my Illamasqua lip gloss in Enchant. Nice and easy.
And here is the final daytime look.
Day to night transition
So to amp this up for an evening look was fairly easy.
Step 1: I added more blush.
Step 2: Go for more drama on the lips.
Out with the nude and in with red. What’s more dramatic then double red!!
I used Maybelline – Pleasure Me Red, a nice moisturising lipstick and then I added Illamasqua Succubus on top for an pretty, glossy, punctuation point.
And then I was good to go.
Let me know what you think of the looks and I’d love to hear from you and check out your Valentines looks.
