I have fully fallen in love with the two tone lips trend. I feel like what I’m going to say next is turning into my mantra, but it’s a quick and easy way to look on trend without hours of effort.
As is also turning out to be a regular occurrence, I was on Pintrest when saw this photo from Alex Evans Photography and felt inspired. (The other photos from this shoot are amazing so don’t be surprised if I recreate a few more).
Natalie Ventola was the make up artist and since discovering this photo I went to check out her work and I love it.
I was initially drawn to the white eyeliner as it’s a look I’ve been meaning to try out for the longest time but haven’t gotten around to doing yet. White eyeliner is a strong look and needs a precise hand, there is no hiding if it doesn’t look good. I’m really looking forward to trying it though so you’ll most likely see it sometime in the near future.
So once I’d fan-girled over the eyeliner, I saw the lip colour combination and I was all over it. I mean a new look to try, and I already had the colours to make my own version.
I have 2 different looks today.
The first is my recreation of the look in the photo with bold colours that are clearly noticeable.
The second lip look is more subtle and would be suitable for the less daring amount us or for the work environment.

This bold look uses Sleek ‘Matte Me’ lipsticks. Fandango Purple on the left and Party pink on the right.
And here is my look with Fandango on my top lip and Party pink on the bottom.
With my skin Fandango Purple comes up as a pink tone and Party Pink looks like a pretty coral colour.

For the more subtle and work friendly look, I used Sleek True Lipstick colour in Exxxaggerate, (a matte purple with a slight shimmer) on my top lip and again the Matte Me in Fandango Purple but on the bottom this time.
This works because the colours are fairly similar and I did not layer up Fandango as much, so that gave it a softer look. You get the effect but its not so in your face.
As I mentioned, all the lipsticks used are Sleek. I didn’t actually plan to use the same brand for my lip colours but when I was trying out colour combinations these were the ones I liked. For me Sleek is pocket friendly, so its one of my faves to head to when I am thinking of trying bold colours without breaking the bank.
I took to two tone lips like a duck to water, and had a lot of fun picking out colour combinations.
Which colour combo do you like the best? Have you caught the two tone lips bug? Let me know in the comments.
Song of the day to accompany this post is Switch by NCT 127. The combination of bright pink and coral in my first look reminds me of the tropical house vibes in the song. It’s on my summer playlist so I’m going to be enjoying this today and for the rest of the summer.
