Aesop Parsley Seed Facial Cleanser Review Update – 1 Year Later

Check out my review of the Aesop Parsley Seed Cleanser after having it in my routine long term.

Well it’s been a while since I posted something skincare related, so I’ve decided to get back to it with an update of the Aesop Parsley Seed Facial Cleanser. A year ago I got a sample, and wrote a mini review.  Now I’m back with my thoughts after some long term use.  My skin type is sensitive and oily.

After my sample ran out I bought a full size bottle and started using it regularly.

My Aesop Parsley Seed Facial Cleanser review. My thoughts after using it for a year.

The directions say to lather up, apply to your skin leave it on for 2 minutes then wash it off.  So that’s what I did! I would apply it, leave it on while I brushed my teeth and then rinse it off.

Unfortunately my skin reacted.  I have to add, as a disclaimer, that I was also using the Pixi Glow Tonic Exfoliating Toner at the same time.  I bought them at around the same time and was very excited to use everything.  But I think it was just too much for my sensitive skin to take.  My skin got super dry and I started getting milia that came up as a reaction on my skin.  So I stopped using both products, and gave my skin some time to calm down.

After that I started using it when I needed extra spot fighting for my skin and I stopped leaving it on for 2 minutes.  I applied it, worked it in a little, then rinsed it off straight away.

After my skin got used to that, I worked my way up to using it more regularly again and when I felt the need for some extra “work” I left it on for 30 seconds to 1 minute max before I rinsed it off.

I like the product and would definitely buy it again.  I like to use it most when I know my skin needs to fight any spots I may get around that time.

Have you tried it?  How did you like it?  Let me know in the comments!
